The upcoming AMD’s AM5 socket is also known as LGA1718, will be used by AMD next-generation Ryzen processors based on Zen 4 microarchitecture. This socket will be used by AMD 600-series motherboards which will also introduce DDR5 memory support.
The upcoming Intel Z690 platform will launch already in the fourth quarter of this year, along with upcoming Intel Alder Lake S 12th gen processors. According to latest rumors, upcoming Intel B660 and H610 for Alder Lake will coming in Q1 2022, while AMD’s X670 AM5 is expected in Q2 2022, and Intel’s Z790 for Raptor Lake is expected in Q3 2022.
AMD is expected to launch ZEN 4 Ryzen 7000 series (codename: Raphael) in early 2022. AMD ZEN 4 will debut on AMD’s next-gen platform AM5, which is also expected to introduce DDR5 support for AMD’s mainstream computing platform. According to latest rumors, AMD ZEN 4 Ryzen 7000 series will feature with Navi2 iGPU.
