Intel’s upcoming Arrow Lake-S desktop CPUs may feature a shift away from hyperthreading technology, according to recent leaks. A sample 24-core, 24-thread Arrow Lake-S chip was spotted in an Intel test machine, running at 3GHz.
Previous information indicated Arrow Lake-S would have up to 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores. With 16 threads from the efficiency cores and 8 from the performance cores, the total thread count should be 24. This suggests the performance cores on Arrow Lake-S may lack hyperthreading support.

Leaked Intel slides have revealed key details about the company’s upcoming Arrow Lake-S desktop processors and supporting chipset, providing the first concrete specifications on the next-generation platform.
Intel has announced its next-generation Arrow Lake gaming CPUs coming this fall, followed by Lunar Lake CPUs that will bring major improvements.
The Arrow Lake chips will feature AI accelerators specifically for gaming workloads. They will be part of Intel’s Core Ultra Series 2 lineup for both desktops (Arrow Lake-S) and laptops (Arrow Lake-H/HX/U). The AI accelerators will complement the NPUs on these chips.
According to an AnandTech forum thread where a user named uzzi38 shared an Intel slide. While not revealing much new information, the slide confirms Intel’s performance targets for the upcoming Arrow Lake-S desktop CPUs.

According to latest rumors from Moore’s Law is Dead, the upcoming Intel 14th Gen Core “Meteor Lake” desktop processor may require a new socket – LGA 2551, this means current LGA 1700 is only for Alder Lake and upcoming Raptor Lake CPUs.
Along with 13th Gen Core Raptor Lake, during the Investors Meeting 2022 event, Intel also confirmed the upcoming 15th Gen Core Arrow Lake and 16th Gen Core Lunar Lake. Arrow Lake will be released in 2024, and Lunar Lake will be released in 2025.
