AMD Rep Confirmed Ryzen 9000 Series Zen 5 CPUs to be Released in the Second Half of 2024

AMD has reaffirmed its previous timeline for releasing CPUs based on its next-generation Zen 5 architecture. During the company’s Q4 2023 earnings call, AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su stated that Ryzen 9000 series (or 8000 series) Zen 5 products for both servers and consumer PCs remain on track for launch in the second half of 2024.

This puts to rest speculation that AMD might accelerate the rollout of Zen 5 in response to Intel’s upcoming Arrow Lake desktop chips. While no exact launch date was provided, the busy holiday shopping period in late 2024 is likely.

AMD Ryzen Zen 5 “Granite Ridge” CPUs Rumored in Mass Production, Release Date Later This Year

Intel Z890 and AMD X770 Motherboards May Coming in Q3 of 2024

During the today’s AMD Financial Analyst Day AMD confirmed its plans for CPU architecture in the next few years. The upcoming Zen 4, Zen 4 V-Cache, Zen 4c based on 5nm/4nm will released later this year to early next year, and the Zen 5, Zen 5 V-Cache, Zen 5c based on 4nm/3nm will be released in 2024.

AMD Zen 5 Ryzen 8000 Series Codename will be Granite Ridge

According to latest rumors, the codename for AMD Zen 5 Ryzen 8000 series desktop CPUs will be Granite Ridge, and Strix Point will be the codename for APU series (Ryzen 8000H/G/U). The leak also confirms that the Strix Point APU series is based on the TSMC N3 fabrication node and that they would feature Zen5 and Zen4D architecture.
