Intel 13th Gen Core i9-13900 “Raptor Lake” Processor Previewed at SiSoftware

SiSoftware has just posted a performance preview of upcoming Intel Core i9-13900. Intel Core i9-13900 is a 24-core processor with 8 Performance and 16 Efficient cores. According to the SiSoftware, this processor series is based on an updated Intel 7+ process technology, has 20% larger L3 cache and supports faster DDR5 memory up to 5600 MT/s (up from 4800 MT/s on Alder Lake).

The L2 cache of Intel Raptor Lake has been improved, now twice as big for Performance and Efficient cores (2MB per core for big core and 4MB per cluster of 4 cores on small cores).

Starting with ALU/FPU tests that benchmark basic arithmetic tasks, Raptor Lake delivered 33% to 50% improvement over Alder Lake. The Raptor Lake design achieved this with 3.7 GHz P-Core and 2.76 GHz E-Core frequency. In vectorized and SIMD tests, the 13th gen design showed only 5% to 8% improvement over the previous generation.

Intel 13th Gen Raptor Lake desktop processors are expected to be released in August 2022 or October 2022. Stay tuned for more info.
