Rumors: AMD Zen 5 Ryzen 9000 Series Specs, Release Date Set in April to June 2024

New details have emerged about AMD’s next generation Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” desktop processors, codenamed “Granite Ridge,” according to reliable leaker High Yield YT. The new chips are expected to launch around May-June 2024 and will utilize the existing Socket AM5 and be compatible with current 600 series chipset motherboards.

The Ryzen 9000 chips will use a chiplet design similar to the current Ryzen 7000 “Raphael” processors. They will reuse the same 6nm I/O die from Raphael but with revisions to enable higher native DDR5 memory speeds, possibly up to DDR5-6400 compared to DDR5-5200 currently. This should improve memory overclocking capabilities.
