AMD Ryzen Threadripper 5000 Series Rumored to be Announced in August

The long awaited AMD Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series now rumored to be announced in August 2021 and release date expected in September. The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series are codenamed “Chagall”, there will be no changes to the number of cores, but the processor architecture will be changed to Zen 3.

AMD Threadripper 5000 would not see changes in fabrication node, DDR4 memory support, or even TDP. The top SKUs would still cap at 280W, which is understandable as Chagall is likely to launch with support for existing TRX40 motherboards.
