The upcoming AMD Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series HEDT and WorkStation CPUs are rumored for a long time. According to latest leaks by Gigabyte, the new Zen 3 ‘Chagall’ Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series CPUs will max out at the same 64 Cores and 280W as Ryzen 3000 Threadripper, but feature the significantly quicker Zen 3 architecture.
According to Gigabyte, the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 5000 lineup is confirmed as ‘AMD Family 19h 08h’ processors and will come in at least eight different SKUs, 5 SKUs for the workstation WRX80 and 3 SKUs for the HEDT TRX40 platform. The workstation models will feature 64, 32, 24, 16, 12 core and HEDT models will feature 64, 32, and 24 core variants.
The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series HEDT will have three SKUs: Ryzen Theadripper 5990X (64 cores), Ryzen Threadripper 5970X (32 cores), Ryzen Threadripper 5960X (24 cores). And Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series Pro workstation will have 5 SKUs: Ryzen Theadripper 5995WX (64 cores), Ryzen Threadripper 5975WX (32 cores), Ryzen Threadripper 5965WX (24 cores), Ryzen Threadripper 5955WX (16 cores), Ryzen Threadripper 5945WX (12 cores).
The release date for Ryzen Threadripper 5000 seires HEDT CPUs are expected in November 2021. The release date for Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series PRO Workstation CPUs are expected in early 2022.
