AMD Ryzen 7000 Series “Raphael” Zen 4 IHS Design for AM5/LGA1718 Leaked

The AMD Ryzen 7000 series Zen 4 “Raphael” desktop CPU is now rumored to be launched in Q4 of 2022. AMD “Raphael” desktop CPU will land on an AM5 socket.

Today ExecuFix has revealed the futuristic CPU design for the Raphael. The integrated heat spreader (IHS) will not have a uniform shape, on the contrary, each side will have two cutouts. However, it is unclear why has AMD changed the IHS design this much.

The bottom design of the AM5 package, which would retain the size of AM4 CPUs: 40x40mm. The Zen4 CPU package would only be slightly smaller than Alder Lake (1600 mm2 vs 1687 mm2). AMD CPUs for AM5 socket would allegedly support dual-channel DDR5 memory as well as PCIe Gen4.0.
